Men

We firmly believe that in order to have a healthy church, the men of the church must be spiritual leaders (both in the home and in the church). The need for Godly male leadership could not be more clear in Scripture. We are living in a culture where men are not respected for what really makes them valuable. Furthermore, they are not being taught what it means to be a true man. We have been fed the lie that says manhood is about making money, being tough (physically and emotionally), having a good sex life, playing with your new toys and tools, and “escaping” regularly to your pet sport or hobby. God’s picture of a true man is quite different from what society has taught us. True men, according to Scripture, are spiritual leaders at home, in church, and in society.

Men’s Retreat: Our annual men’s retreat is held every August at Bass Lake Camp! We’ve had a growing number of men come to the retreat each year. Plan on joining us the next time around!

Men’s Prayer Breakfast:

Note: The men’s prayer breakfast is currently not meeting.

One small way we seek to encourage and equip men is through a monthly meeting of food, fellowship, Bible-study, prayer, and spiritual encouragement. The goal of this breakfast meeting is:
- Prayer & learning to bear one another’s burdens.
- Christian friendship, brotherhood, and accountability.
- Challenging each other to grow spiritually, mentally, and socially.
- Learning from one another.
- Encouragement in loving our wives & children, and in leading our families.
- Learning how God wants to use us (as a group & individually) to make our church stronger and bring glory to Him!

Of course you don’t have to be the perfect Godly man in order to join us. Rather then being men of perfection, we are striving to be men who are headed in the right direction – men after God’s own heart. Below, you will find our meeting times, locations, and current study topic. Feel free to join us!

Current Study “Joshua 1-9: God’s Plan For Spiritual Victory”: We know Joshua as being a great man, great leader, and military conquerer; yet God gave him clear directions as to how he was to to achieve this victory. As men, we need and desire spiritual victory in our lives, but we must achieve victory God’s way.

The following is a brief description of the study from the publisher.

“Travel with Joshua as he triumphantly leads Israel into the Promised Land — fulfilling the promise God made four hundred years earlier. This study teaches how to live by faith during times of intense spiritual conflict. You’ll learn how to live victoriously in times of spiritual warfare, how to worship during times of severe testing, and how to live by faith in the presence of your enemies. But be warned: in life you will face two formidable spiritual enemies that can threaten every Christian’s plan for spiritual victory.” (lamplightersusa.org)
